Health care sharing ministries, and the programs we describe on this site, are not insurance companies, and membership is not offered through an insurance company. They do not guarantee or promise that your medical bills will be paid or assigned to others for payment. Whether anyone chooses to pay your medical bills is voluntary. A health sharing membership should never be considered a substitute for an insurance policy. Whether or not you receive any payments for medical expenses, and whether or not a program continues to operate, you are always responsible for any unpaid medical bills.

Health care sharing ministries generally are not regulated by state insurance departments and do not have to follow Affordable Care Act consumer protections, such as covering pre-existing conditions or capping out-of-pocket costs (NAIC (opens in new tab)). Many states require ministries to provide specific legal notices; read the notice for your state on the ministry's website before joining.

Affiliate disclosure

Health Sharing Compass participates in affiliate and referral programs offered by some health sharing organizations, which may include the America's HealthShare affiliate program. If you click a link on this site and enroll in a program, we may earn a referral fee. For some programs that fee is recurring while the membership stays active. It doesn't cost you anything extra, and it doesn't change your monthly contribution.

Compensation does not change our editorial content. Health sharing organizations don't write our articles, and payment doesn't change what we report from their published guidelines, including limits, exclusions and waiting periods. Pages that contain affiliate links carry a short notice near the top, and enrollment buttons are labeled as sponsored.

We are independent

Health Sharing Compass is an independent website. We are not a health care sharing ministry, insurance company, agent or broker, and we are not owned, operated or endorsed by America's HealthShare, Melita Sharing Ministry, Inc., or any other organization we write about. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the programs we discuss.

When you click through to a program, you leave Health Sharing Compass and deal directly with that organization. Its own membership guidelines, terms and privacy policy apply. Program availability varies by state.

Accuracy and updates

We work from each organization's published guidelines and pricing pages, and we list our sources on every article. But programs change their contributions, sharing limits and rules, sometimes monthly. Information may be incomplete or out of date by the time you read it, and we make no warranties about its accuracy or completeness. The organization's current sharing guidelines always control. If you notice an error, please contact us.

No endorsements

Mentions of organizations are for context and comparison, not endorsements. An affiliate link is not a recommendation that a particular program is right for you.
